What We Do

Five disciplines. One standard of representation.

We act across the matters that most affect people’s lives, livelihoods and liberty — led by an immigration litigation practice and supported by a disciplined advisory and transactional capability.

01

Immigration & Migration Litigation

Our core practice. Visa refusals and cancellations, merits review before the ART, judicial review in the Federal Circuit and Family Court and the Federal Court, and ministerial intervention requests.

Flagship Practice
02

Employment Law

Unfair dismissal and general protections claims, workplace investigations, contracts and restraints, and disputes before the Fair Work Commission — for employees and employers alike.

03

Criminal Law

Representation in the Local and District Courts — bail applications, summary and indictable matters, traffic offences, and sentencing advocacy, with an eye to the immigration consequences of a conviction.

04

Conveyancing

Residential and commercial property transactions — contract review, exchange and settlement, off-the-plan purchases and related advice, managed with precision from instruction to completion.

05

Notary Services

Notarisation and authentication of documents for use overseas — certifying copies, witnessing signatures and powers of attorney, and preparing documents for apostille and legalisation.

Not sure where your matter sits?

Many matters cross over — a criminal charge can carry immigration consequences; an employment dispute can affect a sponsored visa. Speak with us and we’ll point you the right way.

Where We Are Strongest

Immigration litigation is our home ground.

A great deal of migration work never reaches a hearing room. Ours often does. When a visa is refused or cancelled, the difference between a life rebuilt and a life uprooted frequently turns on how well the matter is argued on review.

We prepare every matter as though it will be contested — careful evidence, tight submissions, and advocacy that anticipates the other side. That discipline serves clients whether their matter resolves early or runs the full course through the tribunals and the courts.

ART

Administrative Review Tribunal

Merits review of visa refusal and cancellation decisions, including expert evidence and cross-examination.

FCC

Federal Circuit & Family Court

Judicial review of migration decisions affected by jurisdictional error.

FCA

Federal Court of Australia

Appeals and review in complex and precedent-setting migration matters.

MIN

Ministerial Intervention

Carefully framed requests where the law has been exhausted but compelling circumstances remain.

Our Principal

Bhavesh Lakhani

Principal Lawyer & Notary Public

Bhavesh leads Trident Law’s litigation practice. A Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and a Notary Public, he brings more than fifteen years of focused migration law experience to matters at every level — from first advice through to review and appeal.

His practice is defined by preparation: building matters on solid evidence, anticipating the arguments on the other side, and advocating with clarity in the tribunal and the courtroom. Clients value a lawyer who tells them where they really stand and then fights hard for the right result.

Straight advice, early

You hear an honest assessment of your prospects from the outset — strengths, risks and realistic options — not optimism that costs you later.

Built for the hearing room

Every matter is prepared as if it will be contested. Thorough evidence and tight submissions give you the strongest position, whether you settle or run.

03

One point of contact

You deal directly with the lawyer running your matter. No being handed down to a junior, no losing the thread of your own case.
